A special investigation team (SIT) of Ambala Police has solved the murder case of a hotelier, Sukhchain Singh, with the arrest of his friend. The arrested friend, Vikas, is an employee of the health department and works as a multi-purpose health worker at the prime health centre (PHC) in Nurpur village, Ambala district.
Singh had gone missing on May 26 and his body was found from a maize field. His wife had lodged a missing complaint after he did not return home from his hotel. The police registered a case and formed an SIT to investigate the matter.
During interrogation, Vikas revealed that he was indebted and needed money. He asked for money from Singh, who refused to lend him any. In an attempt to obtain Singh’s money, Vikas mixed his friend’s milkshake with narcotics and lured him to his room where he strangled him with a belt.
According to the Ambala Superintendent of Police, Vikas dumped Singh’s body in a nearby field after taking his Rs 3.6 lakh cash. The police have arrested Vikas and taken him on a six-day police remand for further investigation.
The police acted swiftly and ensured that justice was served in this case. The people of Ambala are relieved that the culprit has been caught and are grateful for the police department’s hard work.
