Charlotte Hornets’ Miles Bridges Hits Game-Winning Three to Defeat Celtics in Overtime

In a thrilling overtime matchup, the Charlotte Hornets emerged victorious against the Boston Celtics with Miles Bridges hitting a game-winning three-pointer in the final seconds. The Hornets’ 121-118 win not only snapped their four-game losing streak but also dealt a blow to the Celtics’ six-game winning streak.

After a surprising fourth-quarter comeback by Charlotte, including a nine-point run in the final two minutes of regulation, the game went into overtime with both teams hungry for the win. It was Bridges, recently reinstated from an NBA suspension, who delivered the decisive blow with his clutch three-pointer, sealing the victory for the Hornets.

LaMelo Ball had a standout performance for Charlotte, contributing 36 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Former Celtic Gordon Hayward chipped in with 20 points, while Bridges himself finished with 14 points and an impressive 15 rebounds.

On the Celtics’ side, Jayson Tatum was a force to be reckoned with, scoring 31 of his 45 points in the first half. Tatum also led the team in rebounds with 13 and assists with six. Payton Pritchard added 21 points for Boston, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

Meanwhile, in another NBA matchup, the Denver Nuggets overcame the ejection of Nikola Jokic to defeat the Detroit Pistons 107-103. Reggie Jackson led the Nuggets with 21 points and six assists, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 20 points.

Despite the ejections of their coach Michael Malone and Jokic, the Nuggets managed to end their four-game road losing streak and hand the Pistons their 12th consecutive loss. Cade Cunningham stood out for Detroit with 27 points and nine assists, while Marvin Bagley III contributed 18 points and eight rebounds.

In a high-scoring game, the Milwaukee Bucks showcased their offensive prowess with a 142-129 victory over the Washington Wizards. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the charge with an impressive 42 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists. Damian Lillard also made his mark with 22 points and seven assists. The win marked the Bucks’ fifth consecutive victory.

Despite a strong performance from Jordan Poole, who scored 30 points for the Wizards, Washington suffered their sixth consecutive loss. Kyle Kuzma added 22 points and a game-high 13 assists, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bucks’ dominant offensive display.

In other NBA action, the Miami Heat secured a convincing 118-100 win over the Chicago Bulls. Bam Adebayo led the way for Miami with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Duncan Robinson provided a spark from beyond the arc, shooting 6-for-9 from three-point range and finishing with 22 points.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. contributed 19 points, and Jimmy Butler added 16 points to propel the Heat to their eighth win in nine games. Coby White put up a season-high 20 points for the Bulls, but it wasn’t sufficient as they suffered their fourth loss in five games.

The New Orleans Pelicans ended the Sacramento Kings’ six-game winning streak with a resounding 129-93 victory. Brandon Ingram led the way for the Pelicans with 31 points, while Zion Williamson added 26 points to help secure the win.

Harrison Barnes scored 16 points for the Kings, with De’Aaron Fox contributing 14 points. Despite their efforts, the Kings trailed by as many as 41 points in the fourth quarter, unable to withstand the Pelicans’ dominant performance.

The Minnesota Timberwolves continued their impressive form with a 117-100 win over the New York Knicks. Anthony Edwards stood out with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 20 points.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 25 points and six assists, while Julius Randle recorded a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. However, the Knicks couldn’t keep up with the Timberwolves’ momentum, suffering their second loss in their last 10 games.

In the final game of the day, the Los Angeles Clippers cruised to a 124-99 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Paul George led the Clippers with 28 points, while Kawhi Leonard added 21 to secure the win.

Norman Powell and Daniel Theis made significant contributions off the bench for the Clippers, scoring 19 points each. Keldon Johnson led the Spurs with 22 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Clippers’ dominance.

These NBA matchups provided thrilling moments and impactful performances, further intensifying the competition as the season progresses. The players showcased their skills and determination, making for an exciting day of basketball action.
