Hockey India has announced the addition of two new academy members and an associate member unit, as part of its efforts to develop young talent at the grassroots level. Seth Anandram Jaipuria School in Uttar Pradesh and Cuddalore Hockey Academy in Tamil Nadu are the two new academy members, while Union Bank of India in Mumbai is now an associate member unit.
Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, founded by Prateek Agarwal and sponsored by Shawariya Education and Foundation, promises to enhance athletes’ skills and abilities through a range of sports programs, state-of-the-art facilities, best coaches, and a competitive environment. Meanwhile, the Cuddalore Hockey Academy was founded by A.C Sivakumar and sponsored by the Aristo Public School Cuddalore. It currently provides free coaching camps to men and women athletes in the Cuddalore Stadium.
Union Bank of India, established in 1919 and the fifth-largest public sector bank in India, pledges to promote hockey and help Hockey India reach out to new talent in Mumbai.
Padma Shri Dr Dilip Tirkey, the President of Hockey India, expressed his pride in the new Academy Members and Associate Member Unit, adding that academies and associate members play a vital role in developing a conducive atmosphere where individuals can strive for greatness in hockey. These organizations emphasize social inclusivity and promote the holistic growth of the players, not just in sports but beyond.
Hockey India now boasts 27 Permanent Members, 33 Associate Members, 49 Academy Members, and 2 Hoc-Key Members.
