Punishing Russia for terror is a historic task for the current generation of world leaders – address by the President of Ukraine and the [I held a meeting of the Staff. The main issues are the protection of our ports and the continuation of food exports by sea. This is a strategically important issue, and not only for our country.

Ukrainian President held a staff meeting to discuss crucial matters such as the protection of ports and the uninterrupted export of food by sea. He emphasized the significance of these issues not only for Ukraine but also for global food security.

President highlighted the successful implementation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which played a crucial role in preventing a price crisis in the global food market. The initiative’s efforts helped avert political and migrant crises that could have arisen due to a significant increase in food prices. However, the Russian leadership is attempting to provoke these crises now. Without Ukraine’s exports, the global market would face a tangible deficit, affecting not only the poorest countries but also nations like Libya, Egypt, Bangladesh, and China. Ukraine is working closely with its partners to prevent these destabilizing consequences.

To safeguard Ukraine’s global role as a guarantor of food security, maritime access to the global market, and jobs in ports and the agricultural industry, the country is actively developing action plans and agreements. These measures aim to ensure both global security and the well-being of Ukrainian farmers.

President mentioned that representatives from African media recently visited Ukraine and witnessed the devastating consequences of Russian aggression firsthand. These journalists will return to their home countries equipped with the truth about the war and its impact. The President expressed gratitude to the international media for honestly reporting the situation in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of spreading awareness.

During the meeting, reports from the military, intelligence, the Security Service, and the Interior Ministry were also discussed. The focus was on assessing the situation on the frontline and addressing areas of ongoing conflict, such as Kupyansk, Kherson region, Donetsk region, and southern areas of Zaporizhzhia region. The supply of ammunition and measures against Russian missile and drone strikes were thoroughly analyzed.

The President expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian Air Force and other branches of the military for their efforts in defending the country’s airspace. The successful interception of Russian missiles and Shahed drones has saved countless lives and vital infrastructure, particularly in Odesa and the surrounding regions. Specific recognition was given to the Odesa and Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigades, the Kharkiv anti-aircraft missile regiment, and the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi radio engineering brigade.

The President asserted the importance of exposing any instances where components from free-world countries are utilized in the production of weapons for Russian terrorists. Each piece of evidence will strengthen the argument for more significant sanctions to prevent any trade relations with a terrorist state that could indirectly support acts of terror.

On another note, the President mentioned signing decrees to award 1,255 warriors for their bravery. Since February 24, nearly 51,000 Ukrainian soldiers have received state awards.

The President expressed gratitude to those who fight for Ukraine, acknowledging their heroic efforts and sacrifices. He extended appreciation to international partners, particularly U.S. Secretary of Defense Austin, for their clear and powerful statements in support of overcoming Russian aggression and holding Russia accountable for its actions. He emphasized that punishing Russia for terrorism is a historic responsibility for the current generation of world leaders, and he expressed confidence that the world will fulfill this crucial task. The President concluded with a resolute statement: Ukraine will prevail!]
