Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has asked for a probe into posters which have surfaced in the state’s Damoh district featuring hijab-clad Hindu girl students in Ganga Jamuna Higher Secondary School. The posters displayed photographs and marks obtained by the meritorious students. The appearance of the hijab-like scarf around the heads of the girl students caused some controversy, although none of their family members came forward with any complaints. Mishra is taking the issue seriously and has directed officials to investigate it. Some Hindu groups have demanded that the school be de-recognised, and the district education officer take action against it.
