HESCO CEO Urges Action Against Electricity Theft

Muzaffar Ali Abbassi, CEO of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO), has emphasized the company’s commitment to curbing the theft of electricity through legal action against offenders. During a meeting with HESCO police officials, Damaged Transformers Monitoring Cell (DTMC), S&I, M&T, Security and T&MRC, Abbassi commended the efforts of the DTMC for repairing 200 transformers since February and of T&MRC for checking over 4,000 connections, which assisted in the recovery of outstanding units.

Abbassi urged officials to step up action under the nighttime vigilance mechanism as many people illegally tap into power grids during the night. Furthermore, he appealed to consumers to pay their dues and monthly electricity bills on time, emphasizing that HESCO is a commercial company that relies on revenue to offer necessary services to consumers.

The CEO emphasized the need for continued action against power thieves, highlighting that it is a high priority for HESCO to eliminate the menace of electricity theft, as well as the need for authorities to penalize those involved in theft. He further urged officials to remain vigilant and implement legal measures against electricity theft to ensure that offenders are promptly brought to justice.

This action from HESCO’s CEO indicates the company’s pledge to improve electrical services while reducing electricity theft. With a renewed effort to combat the problem through cooperation with law enforcement authorities, HESCO is set to make significant strides in improving the electrical landscape.
