Pernod Ricard India’s Corporate Affairs Head, Yashika Singh, has resigned from the French spirits giant, according to three sources close to the matter. Singh, who headed the corporate affairs division for the Indian market, resigned last week, with her focus being on regulatory issues. She also headed the communications sector. Sources also revealed that Rajesh Mishra, Pernod Ricard India’s Chief Operating Officer and former Chief Financial Officer, will be relocating to Malaysia later in the year in a new senior leadership role.
Sing and Mishra did not return requests for comment, and Pernod did not offer any statement on Singh’s departure. However, Pernod did state that its employees were cooperating with authorities with regards to a federal agency’s accusations that the company had illegally made profits. The agency claims Pernod gave false information to Delhi city authorities in 2021, which resulted in them using corporate guarantees for retailers in violation of city rules. As a result, Pernod has had its retail license rejected in New Delhi, although it has denied wrongdoing.
Paul-Robert Bouhier had resigned from his position at Pernod India in April, three months after taking on the role as Head, and was eventually replaced by Jean Touboul. Internal employee movements are in line with the company’s succession plans, stated Pernod, with no mention of the ongoing regulatory issues.
