Haryana Government Inks MoUs For 3 Aviation Projects At Wings India 2024, Announces Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala
CHANDIGARH – The state government of Haryana has finalized three significant aviation projects through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed at the recently held Wings India-2024 event in Hyderabad, announced Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Tuesday. These projects aim to enhance the aviation infrastructure and services in the state.
The first MoU was established with the Airports Authority of India (AAI), focusing on the Hisar airport. Under this agreement, the AAI will oversee the management of equipment, functioning, and technical support at the airport, contributing to its efficient operations.
Another crucial MoU was signed between Pawan Hans Ltd, the government of India, and the state government. This agreement will pave the way for the establishment of the country’s largest heli-hub in Gurugram, adjacent to the Dwarka Expressway. Spanning 30 acres of land provided by the Haryana government, the heli-hub is set to become a central hub for helicopter taxi services, private charters, and medical ambulance operations, servicing the northern region of India.
Deputy CM Chautala highlighted the strategic location of the heli-hub, which will be a mere 13 kilometers away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. This proximity will enable seamless connectivity and improved accessibility for passengers travelling within the region.
In regards to the third MoU, Chautala revealed that the state government has partnered with Alliance Air Company to identify nine air routes in Haryana. These routes will see regular flights operated by Alliance Air, supported by the viability gap funding (VGF) scheme. Of particular significance is the initiation of flights from Hisar on a three-day-a-week basis. Moreover, once a civil terminal is constructed in Ambala, air services will commence from there too.
Deputy CM Chautala also acknowledged the interest expressed by major airlines, including Akasa, IndiGo, and SpiceJet, to utilize the facilities at the Hisar airport for parking, similar to the arrangement at Chandigarh Airport. With the escalating air traffic at Delhi International Airport, Hisar airport’s availability for night-time aircraft parking holds promising potential that could alleviate congestion at the major hub.
These aviation projects signify a leap forward in Haryana’s aim to bolster its aviation industry and establish itself as a prominent player in the sector. The initiatives not only enhance connectivity within the state but also lay the foundation for increased economic activities and job opportunities.
