The Haryana High Court has ordered police protection for a Chandigarh businessman and his family following his claim of receiving a life threat from BJP MP Kirron Kher. The businessman, identified as Chaitanya, alleged that he faced a financial dispute and had concerns regarding his safety. Advocate Shiv, representing Chaitanya, stated that the court had taken notice of the petition and directed the Superintendent of Police, Station House Officer, and the Home Secretary to provide immediate protection to the petitioner and his family. The court has given temporary protection for a week and allowed them to approach the court again if needed. Kirron Kher, aside from being a BJP MP, is a renowned theatre, film, and television actress, as well as the wife of veteran actor Anupam Kher. The high court refrained from commenting on the merits of the case but concluded that there may be a potential threat to the petitioner and his family, leading to the decision to grant protection.
