A tourist guide from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, India, named Kalu, also known as Kalu the Talent, was found dead at Gwalior Fort at the age of 25. He was known for his ability to speak several foreign languages, despite only studying until the fifth grade. The police were informed of the discovery of his body in the Urvai Gate area of Fort on Monday. After reaching the scene, the police began investigating the matter.
Kalu’s family members reported that he left home on Sunday night and did not return. His mother, Grace John, claimed that Some guides were troubling Kalu for the last several months. We have also told a few names to the police. It is alleged that Kalu fell from the fort in an intoxicated state, as he had a problem with drug addiction. ASP Rishikesh Meena said, Prima facie, our investigation revealed that he was addicted to drugs and fell from the fort in an inebriated state.
Kalu’s colleague, Samar Singh, said, Kalu had attracted the tourists visiting the Gwalior Fort from India as well as from abroad through his guide talent at a very young age of 10 years. Kalu was class fifth pass but he knew seven to eight foreign languages very well and used to guide foreign tourists by answering their queries.
Kalu lived with his mother and brothers in a small hut at Gwalior Fort since childhood. He learned everything slowly, while talking to the tourists and guides there. From the age of 10, he learned the education of a guide and made a name for himself in Gwalior, as well as in the state, country, and abroad. Whenever foreign tourists came to Gwalior, they used to ask about Kalu first.
Kalu’s death has left tourists and colleagues saddened, and the police continue to investigate the matter.
