A beauty parlour owner in Gurugram has been booked by the police for allegedly conducting a surgery-like procedure that caused partial damage to a customer’s ear in 2022. According to the complainant, Pooja, the parlour owner, Jyoti Narula, treated her right ear loop for a piercing infection for three months with her personal prescription. However, about a year ago, the lower part of her right ear was completely destroyed due to the wrong treatment. Narula initially agreed to pay Pooja Rs 1.5 lakh for the ear surgery but later backed off and even made threats. When Narula’s procedure failed to fix the issue, Pooja approached a doctor who performed surgery to prevent the infection from spreading. Pooja then moved the court on May 29, and the court directed the police to register a case. Following the court’s order, an FIR was registered against Narula under section 338 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code at the New Colony police station on Saturday. A police officer stated that they are probing into the matter and that action will be taken as per the law.
