Gunmen Storm Palace In Kwara, Kill Monarch, Abduct Wife, Others
Gunmen have launched a deadly attack on the palace of Olukoro of Koro in Ekiti local government area of Kwara State. During the invasion that took place on Thursday night, the traditional ruler of the community, General Segun Aremu (rtd), was brutally killed. The assailants also abducted the monarch’s wife and two other individuals.
The town of Koro in Kwara is located near Irele/Oke Ako/Ipao/Oke Aiyedun and Ikole, and shares boundaries with Ekiti State, where two monarchs were recently killed in similar attacks.
The spokesperson for the Kwara State Police command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the tragic incident in the early hours of Friday. She assured the public that intensive investigations are already underway to bring the criminals responsible for this reprehensible act to justice.
