Great Barr Man Pleads Not Guilty to Woodland Murder
A 30-year-old man from Great Barr has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a 26-year-old woman in woodland in Birmingham. Filmon Andmichaen was charged with the murder of Liwam Bereket, who was found seriously injured in a wooded area off Freeth Street, Ladywood, and sadly passed away at the scene on August 1.
Andmichaen appeared before Judge Simon Drew KC via video link from HMP Birmingham, wearing a grey tracksuit, for a brief hearing at Birmingham Crown Court. He entered a not guilty plea.
A trial date has been set for February 20, 2024, with a pre-trial preparation hearing scheduled for December 20 at the same court. The case has garnered significant attention and further developments are anticipated over the coming weeks.
