The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, has declared that the government is making significant efforts to eradicate Naxalite violence in Gadchiroli. During an event related to the ‘Shaasan Aplya Dari’ initiative, Shinde assured that the government is committed to reaching every single person in the district to promote welfare. The programme has already registered 6.7 lakh beneficiaries out of a total population of 11 lakh. Under this scheme, beneficiaries have received various benefits such as tractors, harvesters, cycles, godowns, and caste certificates. The government’s focus has been on empowering women in the area.

To further drive development in Gadchiroli, a steel plant is being established, which has already created direct and indirect employment opportunities for 4,000 individuals. Additionally, once a proposed second steel plant is completed, an additional 20,000 jobs will be generated. Shinde emphasized that Naxalite activities have considerably reduced in Gadchiroli, and the state government is determined to completely eliminate Naxalite violence in the district.

The government’s ‘Shaasan Aplya Dari’ scheme was launched on May 13, allowing citizens to avail the benefits of various government programs at their doorsteps. The recent induction of Ajit Pawar, a Nationalist Congress Party leader, as Deputy Chief Minister is expected to expedite development in Maharashtra, according to Shinde. However, Pawar had broken away from the party along with eight other MLAs on July 2.

Addressing the event, Pawar explained that the focus of the government is solely on developing Gadchiroli. In the past, R. R. Patil and Eknath Shinde have served as Guardian Ministers for the region, and now Devendra Fadnavis has taken on the responsibility. Pawar emphasized that the NCP’s participation in the BJP-Shiv Sena government is solely driven by the goal of promoting development in Gadchiroli.

In summary, the Maharashtra government is actively working towards making Gadchiroli free from Naxalite violence. Through initiatives like ‘Shaasan Aplya Dari,’ the government aims to reach every individual in the district and provide welfare benefits. Additionally, the establishment of a steel plant is expected to create thousands of job opportunities. The recent addition of Ajit Pawar to the government is anticipated to further accelerate the development of Maharashtra. The government’s focus in Gadchiroli remains solely on promoting development and eradicating Naxalite violence.
