The district administration in Indore, Madhya Pradesh recently conducted a major crackdown against land fraud and successfully recovered government land worth Rs 8.60 crore. The crackdown, which was aimed at crushing the activities of notorious land sharks, helped to liberate about 4.44 hectares of government land in village Bangarda.
After an extensive investigation into the land sales activities of the fraudsters, authorities were able to lodge an FIR against twelve accused individuals at Aerodrome Police Station. The defaulters included brokers, vendors, and other conspirators who were found guilty of illegally selling government lands.
The crackdown was facilitated by a collective effort from the Municipal Corporation, the collector, SDM, and tehsildar. Iron boards bearing the contact details of these officers were put up to facilitate the reporting of any suspicious activity regarding government lands. Additionally, the Municipal Corporation was instructed to write a warning message on the walls of such lands, clearly indicating that they belong to the government and cannot be sold or purchased by private individuals.
The crackdown resulted in the recovery of land worth about Rs 8 crore 60 lakh, which had previously been illegally appropriated by the land mafia. Authorities have booked twelve accused individuals, including Zafar, Nitin Jaiswal, Hasam Khan, Ajmeri Khan, Purshottam Sharma, Madhav, Keshav Tiwari, Rupesh Pingle, Manoj Jaiswal, Pooja Jatt, Vishal, and Anil Khichi.
