GOP Candidates Make Final Push in Iowa as Trump Maintains Lead

DES MOINES — Presidential candidates from the Republican party are intensifying their campaign efforts in Iowa as the state’s caucuses approach. With less than three weeks remaining until Iowa Republicans cast their votes, candidates are crisscrossing the state to rally support and make their case to voters. While Donald Trump continues to hold a significant lead in the polls, other candidates are eager to gain ground in the critical first-in-the-nation primary. Here’s a guide to where the candidates will be campaigning this week.

On Wednesday, December 27, Vivek Ramaswamy, a Republican presidential candidate, will have a busy day in Iowa. He will start with a town hall event in Cherokee County at the Pizza Ranch in Marcus at 3:30 p.m. From there, Ramaswamy will move on to Ida County for another town hall at the Midwest Deli & Grill Ltd in Holstein at 5 p.m. His final event for the day will be a town hall in Monona County at the Mapleton Public Library in Mapleton at 6:30 p.m.

On Thursday, December 28, Ramaswamy will continue his campaign trail in Iowa. He will hold a town hall in Pottawattamie County at Lincoln’s Pub in Council Bluffs at 9:30 a.m. Following that, he will have a town hall in Harrison County at the Pizza Ranch in Missouri Valley at 11 a.m. Ramaswamy will then head to Shelby County for a town hall at the Pizza Ranch in Harlan at 12:30 p.m. In the afternoon, he will have town halls in Audubon County at the Blue Grass Inn & Suites in Audubon at 2 p.m., and Cass County at the Rowe Conference Center in Atlantic at 3:15 p.m.

On the same day, Ron DeSantis, another Republican presidential candidate, will hold a Stop the Swamp Tour event in Marion at Mr. Beans at 4:30 p.m.

Ramaswamy will continue his town hall events in Iowa on Thursday evening. He will be in Adair County at the Olive Branch in Greenfield at 4:45 p.m., followed by a town hall in Guthrie County at Ruby’s Pub & Grill in Stuart at 6 p.m. Ryan Binkley, another contender, will have a luncheon event in Pella at the Pizza Ranch at 6:30 p.m., and a meet and greet event in Jasper County at Murph and Mary’s Pub in Newton at the same time. Ramaswamy will conclude the day with a town hall in Greene County at Doc’s Stadium in Jefferson at 7:30 p.m., and another in Calhoun County at Muse on Main in Rockwell City at 8:30 p.m.

On Friday, December 29, Ramaswamy will hold more town halls in Iowa. He will be in Lee County at the Kingsley Inn in Fort Madison at 9 a.m., followed by a town hall in Van Buren County at The Bean Pot Coffee Shop in Farmington at 10 a.m. Later in the morning, Ron DeSantis will have a Stop the Swamp Tour event in Davenport at the Quad City Veterans Outreach Center at 10 a.m. Ramaswamy will then move on to Davis County for a town hall at the Tequila Grill in Bloomfield at 11:30 a.m., and Monroe County for a town hall at the Indian Hills Inn in Albia at 1 p.m. Nikki Haley will also host a town hall event in Dubuque at the Holiday Inn Dubuque/Galena at 1:30 p.m.

Ramaswamy will continue his town hall events on Friday afternoon, holding a town hall in Appanoose County at The Continental Hotel in Centerville at 2:30 p.m. Ron DeSantis will have a meet and greet event in Clayton County at CJ Moyna and Sons Maintenance Facility in Elkader at 3:30 p.m. Ramaswamy will then move on to Wayne County for a town hall at Outlaw Pizza in Corydon at 4 p.m., followed by a town hall in Adair County at the Muse on Main in Rockwell City at 5:30 p.m. Nikki Haley will also host a town hall event in Cedar Falls at the Bien Venu Event Space at 5:30 p.m. Ramaswamy will conclude the day with town hall events in Lucas County at Letz Eat in Chariton at 5:30 p.m., and Warren County at Burkhead Electric in Indianola at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, December 30, Ramaswamy will continue his campaign events in Iowa. He will have a town hall event in Floyd County at Dave’s Restaurant in Charles City at 9 a.m., followed by a town hall in Mitchell County at the American Legion in Osage at 10:15 a.m. Nikki Haley will host a Women for Nikki Tailgate Town Hall event in Coralville at the Iowa Athletic Club at 11 a.m. Ramaswamy will then hold town halls in Worth County at Tequila’s Mexican Bar & Grill in Northwood at 11:30 a.m., Kossuth County at the Pizza Ranch in Algona at 1:15 p.m., and Humboldt County at Pasquale’s Pizza in Humboldt at 2:30 p.m. Later in the day, he will have a town hall in Franklin County at La Chozita in Hampton at 4:15 p.m. Nikki Haley will also hold a town hall event in Cedar Rapids at the Veterans Memorial Commission at 5 p.m. Ramaswamy will conclude the day with a town hall in Butler County at the Allison Public Library in Allison at 5:30 p.m., and in Grundy County at Pancho Villa in Grundy Center at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, December 31, Ron DeSantis will host a Never Back Down New Year’s Eve Party event at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel at 8:30 p.m.
