Goa Forward Party has criticized the renovation of the ministerial block in Goa, stating its cost of Rs 10 crore is an insult to Goan women since the government has failed to provide three free cooking cylinders as promised by the BJP during the election campaign. The GFP is unhappy with the extravagant renovations of the Chief Minister’s office whilst Goan households continue to struggle with rising costs, and women’s needs remain unfulfilled. GFP is calling on the Goa government to redirect resources towards projects that genuinely benefit the people of Goa. They further urged the Chief Minister to provide the three free gas cylinders promised to women. Earlier, GFP legislator Vijai Sardesai had stated that due to the price of cooking gas, people in rural areas of the state have resorted to using firewood for cooking.
