Go First Airline, which has been grounded since early May, has announced another extension of flight cancellations until August 11. The airline took to Twitter to apologize for the inconvenience caused by the cancellations, stating that they were due to operational reasons. However, there is a glimmer of hope as Go First has filed an application for immediate resolution and revival of operations, and they are optimistic about resuming bookings shortly.

The airline’s statement posted on Twitter reads, We regret to inform that due to operational reasons, Go First flights scheduled till August 11, 2023 have been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the flight cancellations. We acknowledge the flight cancellations might have disrupted your travel plans, and we are committed to providing all the assistance we can.

Earlier in May, Go First had canceled its flights and filed for voluntary bankruptcy, citing delays from their engine maker in meeting obligations. However, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has conditionally allowed the airline to resume its operations. DGCA stated that Go First could restart scheduled flight operations once interim funding and flight schedules are approved by the regulator. The airline has been permitted to operate 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights.

The grounding of Go First flights has reportedly led to increased airfare pressure, especially on routes where the airline previously operated. The airline, with approximately 4,200 employees, reported total revenue from operations at Rs 4,183 crore in the financial year 2021-22.

As we wait for Go First to overcome its operational challenges and resume flights, passengers affected by the cancellations are advised to stay updated through the airline’s official communication channels. The application filed for resolution and revival of operations shows promising signs, but it is important to stay patient and understanding during these uncertain times.

In conclusion, Go First Airline has extended flight cancellations until August 11 due to operational reasons. The airline is hopeful about resuming operations and has filed an application for immediate resolution and revival. Passengers are advised to check for updates and rely on official communication from the airline for any assistance related to their travel plans. Let’s hope Go First can overcome its challenges and soon get back to serving passengers efficiently.
