GMR Hyderabad International Airport has recently introduced a new self-baggage drop facility to ensure efficient and seamless travel. The airport has installed eight fully automated self-baggage machines near Gate Entry Number 9, which enables passengers of Indigo Airlines travelling to Bangalore and Chennai to complete their baggage check-in facility in just 45-60 seconds.
These machines are equipped with scanners, scales and sensors, which will enable passengers to effortlessly drop their luggage in the designated location and proceed to the boarding gate. It will also help them avoid long lines waiting at the check-in counter, allowing them to save time, reduce stress, enhance travel experience and enable contactless processing.
In case of excess baggage, the passenger will need to approach the baggage counter of the airline. The technology integration of the self-baggage drop and check-in process makes travel faster and simpler. As we continue to invest in new-age technologies, we remain committed to providing a delightful travel experience for all our passengers, said Mr Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL.
This initiative also assists in maintaining social distancing as the passengers can maintain a safe distance while using the self-baggage drop facility. Moreover, the airport is committed to ensuring the safety of all passengers and staff amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With the introduction of this facility, passengers can enjoy a hassle-free and safer travel experience.
This initiative of introducing a self-baggage drop facility is yet another step taken by GMR Hyderabad International Airport to provide convenient and efficient services to passengers. It is an effort towards making the travel experience of passengers more comfortable, seamless and memorable.
