The Global Naga Forum (GNF) has appealed to the two warring factions of the Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) to end their internal conflict for the greater good of the Nagas in Myanmar. In a press release, GNF expressed disappointment over the deadly infighting within the group and urged the leadership of GHQ and CHQ to cease the fighting and reflect on their common mission.

While the forum empathized with the intolerable material and political hardships faced by the Nagas in Myanmar, it also emphasized the need for both NPGs and CSOs to help prevent the escalation of the problem. GNF appreciated the efforts of the Eastern Naga civil society organizations to prevent the issue from spiraling out of control.

GNF acknowledged the dedication of the Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) to the Naga cause for justice and human rights. Still, it pointed out that killing fellow Nagas undermines the cause. The Naga people need all the help they can get, and internal fighting only adds to their sufferings. Therefore, GNF urged the NSCN (K) factions to stop the infighting for the sake of the Nagas in Myanmar and the greater good of the Nagas as a whole.
