GitHub Announces Funding Programme for Open Source AI Startups

We’re witnessing developers from all over the world using GitHub to innovate and openly share their projects in AI. However, building a successful AI business in the open-source realm comes with its challenges. We want to address these hurdles and support the risk-takers and visionaries driving global innovation.
Open-source AI projects face unique obstacles, including heightened expenses and ethical, security, and legal considerations. GitHub recognizes the potential these challenges pose to innovation and hopes to mitigate them through the Accelerator program. It will provide guidance on building sustainable open-source businesses, with a particular focus on navigating the complexities of AI advancements.
The 10-week Accelerator program will commence on April 22, 2024, and will feature a mix of one-on-one and group sessions, project work, and mentorships. In addition to funding, participants will gain preferred access to high-end GPU virtual machine clusters.
