A 15-year-old girl was abducted by miscreants in an auto in Bihar’s Gaya district on June 12. When the victim shouted for help, the two culprits threw her out of the moving vehicle. However, the local residents chased them and caught hold of the driver, who has been arrested by the police. The incident took place on the Gaya-Rajauli road under the Tankuppa police station area.
The girl suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Magadh Medical College in an unconscious state, where she is undergoing treatment. According to the police, two youths forcibly made the girl sit in the auto at Bartara Bazar area and tried to escape. When she started screaming, locals started chasing the vehicle.
The culprits, fearing they would be caught, threw the girl out of the auto and fled the scene. However, the locals caught the driver and handed him over to the police. The accused have been identified, and the police are currently trying to apprehend them.
Tankuppa Police Station in-charge Ranjan Kumar said that the details about the culprits will be revealed once the girl regains consciousness. “The accused have been identified based on the information by the auto driver. We are hunting for them,” he added.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the state, and the locals demanded stringent action against the culprits. The victim’s family appealed to the authorities to take immediate action and ensure justice for their daughter.
