Get ready for an exciting and fun-filled event as Covington gears up for Apple Fest 2023! With over 125 vendors participating, this year’s festival promises to be the biggest yet. The streets of downtown Covington will come alive on Saturday, September 30, from 9 am to 5 pm EDT, as locals and visitors gather around the city square to celebrate the 32nd installment of this beloved festival.
Leading the festivities as the 2023 Covington Apple Fest Queen is the remarkable Jayden Nicholson, while Keeley Lewsader takes on the role of Junior Miss. Together with their court, they will reign over the event and add a touch of royalty to the festivities.
Amy Thompson, a member of the Apple Fest Committee, expressed her excitement about the overwhelming number of vendors this year. This is the biggest year to date of vendors. We have had to be very creative with making room for all of them, she shared.
In addition to the multitude of vendors, attendees can look forward to a range of activities that have become festival favorites over the years. The Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show will be back, showcasing some stunning vehicles. The Little Miss Apple of Your Eye Contest is set to unfold, adding a dose of cuteness and charm. And for entertainment, the lineup of performers includes returning favorites Catlin Crozier and Booe & The Bobz, who will grace the stage with their talents.
Excitement is also in store with the inclusion of first-time performers, such as 13-year-old piano prodigy Josh Dill, who will captivate the audience with his versatile repertoire. Another local talent, Coop & Company, will take to the stage, having debuted their skills at the Covington 4th of July Celebration. Spotlight Performing Arts will present a special Kid’s Show, while GG Magic and Balloons will create colorful balloon art on the courthouse lawn.
The festival will kick off at 8:55 am with a welcome from Mayor Brad Crain, the 2023 Covington Apple Fest Queen, and Junior Miss on the main stage. This will be followed by the stirring rendition of the National Anthem by Curt Kiser at 9 am sharp. The excitement will continue to build with the Little Miss Apple of Your Eye Contest at 10 am, where adorable contestants will vie for the crown.
Throughout the day, festival-goers can also enjoy the Covington Line Dancers’ energetic performance at 11:45 am and the melodic tunes of Forgiven at 12:15 pm.
