Blaupunkt, a German electronics brand, plans to invest INR 100 crore in its TV manufacturing operations in India over the next three years. The move is aimed at capturing 10% of India’s premium affordable segment TV market share. The investment will be allocated towards new launches, sound technology, marketing, expansion plans, and a new manufacturing plant. On June 5, Blaupunkt will unveil five new Dolby-enabled Android/Google TVs, including QLED 75, 4K(GTV) 65, 4K(GTV) 50, FHD 43, FHD 40, and HD 32, with prices starting at INR 10,888. Blaupunkt has an exclusive licensing contract with Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL) for manufacturing, branding, designing, packaging, and retailing in India.
Blaupunkt has formed a strategic partnership with SPPL, which will operate a new factory in Tilakwa, Hapur, with a production capacity of 2 million units. The factory will begin full operations within the next two quarters. Blaupunkt offers two new Google TV models, the 50-inch and 65-inch, priced at INR 28,999 and INR 44,444, respectively, with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Additionally, the company offers a 75-inch QLED TV with a price tag of INR 99,999, featuring a player box built-in with a 60-watt Dolby stereo box speaker.
