Genetic Technologies Limited (GTGGENE), a global leader in genomics-based testing, has announced its partnership with Gold Coast Private Hospital (GCPH) to establish a Precision Medicine Clinic. This exciting collaboration aims to target the right treatments to the right patients at the right time by utilizing GTG’s geneType Multi-test and Pharmacogenomics (PGx) tests. The Precision Medicine Clinic will initially conduct a 50-patient pilot study to establish workflow and patient reporting. Positive outcomes could pave the way for additional clinics within the Healthscope network, Australia’s only national private hospital operation.

In other news, GTG’s geneType Multi-Risk Test has been granted approval for sale in Australia for pancreatic cancer, melanoma, and Atrial Fibrillation (AFib). This expanded test, which already assesses nine individual serious diseases, can provide a comprehensive wellness profile from a simple saliva sample. Early detection of pancreatic cancer and melanoma can significantly improve patient outcomes, as these cancers have high mortality rates. AFib affects approximately 2% of the Australian population, highlighting the importance of risk assessment for this condition.

GTG has also been named the sole industry partner for a Medical Research Future Fund Grant. The grant will fund the CASSOWARY Trial, focusing on the clinical utility and cost-effectiveness of a multi-cancer polygenic risk score in general practice. The trial aims to improve risk stratification for breast, colorectal, prostate, and melanoma cancers, potentially shaping future policies and guidelines.

Additionally, a peer-reviewed paper validating geneType as a risk assessment tool for pancreatic cancer was recently published. The paper demonstrated a nearly 50% improvement in identifying patients at high risk for developing pancreatic cancer compared to traditional clinical risk scores. Early detection is crucial for pancreatic cancer, as the five-year survival rate is only 9%.

Recognizing its responsibility for good corporate citizenship, GTG has commenced Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting. The company has developed a baseline report adhering to the World Economic Forum’s Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics ESG framework. The report addresses 21 core metrics and will be reviewed quarterly for further improvements.

With these developments, Genetic Technologies Limited continues to lead in genomics-based testing and strives to improve health outcomes for patients worldwide. Their innovative approach, strategic partnerships, and commitment to corporate responsibility position them as a prominent player in the field of precision medicine.
