Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Former chief minister Kamal Nath addressed members of the Gau Sewak Sangh in Bhopal on Saturday, emphasizing their role as both gau sewaks (cow caretakers) and servants of society. Nath expressed disappointment with the state government, stating that it has not provided enough support for the gau sewaks. He highlighted the poor maintenance of over 3,000 cow sheds that were set up during the Congress rule in the first phase.

Lakhan Singh Yadav, a former minister, also expressed his concerns regarding the government’s support for gau sewaks. He stated that during the BJP government’s tenure, each cow received Rs 3.25 for fodder. However, when the Congress formed the government, the amount was increased to Rs 20 per cow. Yadav expressed hope that if the Congress were to form the government, the amount would continue to increase, and more cow sheds would be established.

The statements made by both Nath and Yadav highlight their dissatisfaction with the current state government’s efforts to support gau sewaks. They argue that more needs to be done to ensure the proper maintenance of cow sheds and the well-being of the cows under their care.

It is important to note that while Nath and Yadav criticize the state government’s support, their comments should be regarded in the context of political campaigning. Furthermore, it is crucial to present a balanced view of the topic and consider the perspectives of all stakeholders involved.

Gau sewaks play a crucial role in society, as they take care of cows and work towards their welfare. They not only contribute to the protection of cows, which hold religious significance for many, but also promote environmental sustainability by managing cow waste and producing organic fertilizers.

The concerns raised by Nath and Yadav regarding the maintenance of cow sheds are valid, as proper infrastructure and resources are necessary to ensure the well-being of the cows. The government’s financial support, in terms of providing funds for fodder, is also crucial to meet the dietary needs of the cows.

While their critique is focused on the current state government’s efforts, it is essential to consider the broader perspective. The welfare of cows should be a collective responsibility, transcending political affiliations. Both the government and non-governmental organizations should work together to provide adequate support and resources to gau sewaks.

In conclusion, Kamal Nath and Lakhan Singh Yadav expressed their disappointment with the state government’s support for gau sewaks. They emphasized the need for better maintenance of cow sheds and increased financial aid for fodder. However, it is important to present a balanced view and consider the efforts made by all stakeholders to ensure the well-being of cows and the sustainable management of cow waste.
