In an interview with The Guardian, the Match of the Day presenter expressed his belief that some elements of the press were weirdly, oddly obsessed with trying to do me, and accused them of deliberately taking his tweets out of context. Lineker also discussed his reduced screen time and engagement in reading, podcasts, and charity work. He emphasized his desire for peace and condemned the recent violence in the Hamas-Israel conflict.
