Ganduje and Basiru’s Emergence as APC Leaders Enhances Tinubu’s Reform Agenda
Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has praised the recent emergence of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the national chairman and Senator Ajibola Bashiru as the secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). According to Senator Omo-Agege, their appointments are crucial to the successful implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s reform agenda and gaining the support of the National Assembly.
In a statement released by his Media Adviser, Mr. Sunny Areh, Senator Omo-Agege, who is also the APC’s governorship candidate in Delta State, expressed his confidence in Ganduje and Basiru in rallying party members and federal lawmakers behind President Tinubu’s plans for revitalizing the economy.
Dr. Ganduje, a two-term former governor of Kano, is known for his national outlook and unbiased perspective on issues, which contributed to him being the first and only governor to secure a second term in the state. The official ratification of Dr. Ganduje as national chairman and Senator Basiru as national secretary occurred during the All Progressives Congress’ National Executive Council meeting, attended by President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. They replaced Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore as the immediate past National Chairman and former National Secretary, respectively.
