G20 nations have come together to foster the growth of the global startup ecosystem. At the third meeting of the Startup20 Engagement Group in Goa, India, delegates held important discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration and aligning efforts towards supporting startups across the world. Closed-door meetings focused on key agendas and partnerships before the press conference looked at the progress which has been made and the significance of the Policy Communique. This outlines specific action points, which include creating a framework for startups, increasing access to capital, easing market regulations, and prioritizing underrepresented communities. The startup ecosystem is also to be allocated $1tn by 2030.
Delegates expressed enthusiasm and commitment to the Policy Communique goals and the agreement marks a significant step forward in nurturing and supporting startups. However, amidst discussions on driving global growth and innovation, delegates extended condolences for the train accident that occurred in Odisha and emphasized the need for collective efforts to ensure safety and security. The G20 nations’ commitment to the startup ecosystem will continue when the summit meeting reconvenes in Gurugram on July 3rd and 4th.
