The Madhya Pradesh Tanker Works Association (MPTWA) has written to the depot management and collector of the Bhauri Bakania depot in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh warning that they will stop transportation of petrol and diesel if their tankers are not allowed to park on depot premises by May 29. Association President Abdul Rahman stated that the depot supplies fuel to multiple districts such as Bhopal city, Vidisha, Sagar, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Betul, and Chhindwara. This warning comes after the depot has refused to permit the tankers to park inside their area for the past four months, and they currently line up on the roadsides.
The tanker operators have advised that this is not safe due to the potential of an accident occurring, and they intend to suspend transport of fuel after May 30 if their demands are not met. There are around 400 tankers that travel daily carrying fuel, and a suspension of service could have a detrimental effect on many of the districts being supplied.
