Dadasaheb Bhagat, a remarkable individual hailing from Beed, Maharashtra, has captured the essence of hard work, determination, and the power to overcome obstacles. Starting his journey as an office boy at the renowned IT giant Infosys, Bhagat’s path to success was not an easy one. However, his unwavering commitment and relentless pursuit of his dreams propelled him to incredible heights.
After completing high school, Bhagat made the decision to leave his village and venture into the city of Pune to kick-start his career. Initially earning a modest sum of Rs 9,000 per month as a room service boy after completing an ITI diploma programme, Bhagat soon transitioned to working at an Infosys guest house. It was during his time at Infosys that he developed a deep interest in the software sector and recognized the value of computer programming.
Driven by his passion for animation and design, Bhagat dedicated his evenings to attending animation classes while holding down his job during the day. His commitment to self-improvement paid off when he secured a real job in Mumbai after completing his course. However, he soon found himself drawn to Hyderabad, where he began working for a design and graphics firm. It was during this period that Bhagat started delving into programming languages such as Python and C++, realizing the potential to create reusable design templates.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck when Bhagat was involved in a car accident. Undeterred by his circumstances, he made the bold decision to quit his job and devote his full attention to building his design libraries while confined to a bed. This marked the birth of his first company, Ninthmotion. Within a short span, Bhagat’s entrepreneurial venture began attracting clients from across the globe, including prestigious organizations like BBC Studios and the 9XM music channel.
Bhagat’s enterprising spirit drove him to develop DooGraphics, his second company, with the vision of creating an online platform for graphic design that could rival the likes of Canva. However, the COVID-19-induced lockdown forced him to relocate from Pune to his village in Beed, Maharashtra. Undeterred by the limitations of inadequate infrastructure, Bhagat transformed a hilly cattle shed into his workspace, utilizing the robust 4G network reception available. With a team of friends trained in animation and design, he set out to realize his vision.
The village kids soon became beneficiaries of DooGraphics’ training, broadening their horizons and igniting their creativity. Despite operating from a humble cattle shed, Bhagat’s company gained significant traction, attracting around 10,000 active users within just six months. Among these users, there was a large concentration from Maharashtra, Delhi, and Bangalore, as well as a small but significant number from Japan, Australia, and the UK.
Dadasaheb Bhagat’s remarkable journey and relentless pursuit of excellence caught the attention of none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who lauded his achievements during a speech. In alignment with PM Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), Bhagat aspires to establish DooGraphics as the world’s largest entirely Indian-made design portal.
