Four-star running back DeJuan Williams has made a commitment to join the Maryland football team. Williams, who attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, is the first four-star prospect from the class of 2024 to commit to Maryland. According to the 247Sports Composite, he is ranked as the 27th-best running back and the ninth-best overall prospect in his class from the state.

During his recruitment process, Williams visited College Park for an official visit in late June. He also took official visits to Boston College and made unofficial trips to Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State, among others. Despite sharing carries with another talented player, Durell Robinson, at St. Frances Academy, Williams has still managed to make an impact on the field. The team had a successful season in 2022, finishing with a 9-1 record and being ranked as one of the top-10 teams in the nation by most sources.

Williams’ speed and explosiveness have also been evident in his track career. In January, he set a new school record in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.52 seconds. He also achieved a personal best in the 100-meter dash in March, recording a time of 11.28 seconds.

In addition to Williams, Maryland has also secured commitments from two other in-state recruits. Keyshawn Flowers, a three-star linebacker, and Lloyd Irvin, a three-star defensive back, announced their decisions to join the Terps over the weekend.

This latest commitment adds to Maryland’s already strong ties to St. Frances Academy. Already on the roster are three former St. Frances Academy players: sophomore linebacker Jaishawn Barham, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Andre Roye Jr., and freshman wide receiver Ryan Manning.

As the Terrapins continue to build their team for the future, the addition of DeJuan Williams brings excitement and anticipation. With his impressive talent and athleticism, Williams has the potential to make a significant impact on the field for Maryland.

The commitment of these talented recruits is a testament to the program’s ability to attract top talent, both locally and nationally. Head coach Michael Locksley and his staff have been working tirelessly to build a competitive team, and these commitments are a step in the right direction.

The Maryland football program continues to make strides towards becoming a formidable force in college football. With the addition of DeJuan Williams, along with the other recruits, Terps fans have reason to be optimistic about the future success of the team.

It will be exciting to see how Williams and the rest of the incoming recruits contribute to the Terps’ success in the coming years.
