The Vigilance Bureau of Ludhiana is proceeding to declare former Ludhiana district manager of Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation (Punsup), Jagandeep Singh Dhillon, as a proclaimed offender in connection to an alleged food grain tender scam. Dhillon was found to be absent from duty during his suspension, leading to the proceedings. The Bureau has also taken up the matter with Punsup’s managing director, who has stopped Dhillon’s salary payments. The former DM was initially suspended in May 2022 following an investigation into stealing grain and mid-day meal. On September 15, 2022, he was booked by the VB in connection to the tender scam. The managing director of Punsup has marked an investigation to determine whether Dhillon reported to the Gurdaspur station as requested and whether he received any unearned salary. In addition to Dhillon, transport contractors Jagroop Singh and Paramjeet Chechi will also undergo PO proceedings. The former food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs minister was arrested in connection to the scam in August.
