A former lawmaker from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party alleged that she and her husband were prevented from boarding a Hajj flight by authorities at the airport in Karachi. Uzma Riaz Jadoon claimed that immigration officials stopped them from taking their flight to Saudi Arabia, stating that their names were on a stop list. Jadoon criticised the government for preventing people from carrying out religious rituals and claimed that she had not been nominated in any case. Last month, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) placed the names of several PTI leaders, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, on the no-fly list following violence that took place on 9 May.
