Former NFL QB Kellen Moore Thriving as Offensive Coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers

Former NFL quarterback Kellen Moore has found his stride in his new role as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers. Moore, who retired from professional football in 2018, has successfully transitioned into coaching and has quickly made his mark with the Chargers.

During his playing career, Moore earned a total of $3,905,882 over six seasons in the NFL. He began his career with the Detroit Lions, where he served as a backup quarterback, earning $1,800,000. Moore then joined the Dallas Cowboys, where he spent the remainder of his playing career and earned $2,105,882.

What made Moore stand out in the league was his left-handed throwing style, which is a rarity in the NFL. Despite only appearing in three games, with two of them being starts, Moore showcased his abilities with a stat line of 779 passing yards, four touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Upon his retirement, Moore made a seamless transition into coaching. His first coaching opportunity came with the Dallas Cowboys, where he served as the franchise’s quarterbacks coach following the retirement of renowned QB coach Wade Wilson. Moore proved his competence in the role and eventually climbed the ranks to become the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator in 2019.

However, in January 2023, following a disappointing playoff exit, Moore and the Cowboys mutually agreed to part ways. The setback didn’t last long for Moore as the Los Angeles Chargers swiftly appointed him as their new offensive coordinator on January 30, 2023. In his new role, Moore will work closely with head coach Brandon Staley to optimize the performance of talented young quarterback Justin Herbert and other promising quarterbacks on the Chargers’ roster.

With his wealth of knowledge and experience as a player and now as a coach, Moore is poised to make a significant impact on the Chargers’ offensive strategy. His ability to adapt and excel in different roles within the football industry speaks to his dedication and expertise.

As the Chargers embark on a new season, the addition of Kellen Moore as their offensive coordinator has generated excitement among fans and experts alike. The combination of Moore’s innovative play-calling and the young talent on the Chargers’ roster could lead to a successful and high-powered offense.

It remains to be seen how Moore’s coaching career will continue to unfold and what successes he will achieve with the Chargers. However, one thing is certain: Kellen Moore’s passion for the game and his commitment to excellence make him a formidable force in the world of football coaching.
