Gilbert-Ash to Convert Former London Manor Home into Office Space
Construction firm Gilbert-Ash has been appointed to undertake a £10m office conversion project at Kew Studios, a former manor home in Richmond Upon Thames. The ambitious refurbishment includes structural improvements to create a staircase, lift core, and mezzanine plant platform. Furthermore, the building will undergo alterations to its external openings, repairs, and the replacement of MEP services to facilitate subdivision and fitout. The project will be carried out in three phases and will also involve external landscaping.
Ray Hutchinson, Managing Director of Gilbert-Ash, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the collaboration with AMD architects and client 10JSP Investments. He praised the team’s vision for the building’s restoration, which aims to maintain its historical significance while incorporating modern features such as a living green roof, electric vehicle charging facilities, cycle storage, and solar panels.
With its reputation for delivering high-quality fit-out projects, Gilbert-Ash is well-positioned to tackle the transformation of Kew Studios. The company aims to preserve much of the building’s original structure, enhancing it with sustainable elements and innovative amenities.
