Louisville Metro Police have arrested 20-year-old John D. Kennedy in connection to the shooting that resulted in the death of former Linkin’ Bridge member Jeremiah Buckner. Kennedy has been charged with murder and first-degree robbery.

According to the arrest report, Kennedy allegedly shot into Buckner’s vehicle while he was working as an Uber driver in the Russell neighborhood on January 3, 2023. Buckner was struck in the back and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The police claim that Kennedy confessed to being present at the scene during a previous interview.

A Jefferson District Court judge set a cash bond of $500,000 for Kennedy, and his arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Jeremiah Buckner, known by his stage name Ekoe Alexanda, rose to fame as a member of the a cappella quartet Linkin’ Bridge.
