In a disturbing incident, a former kindergarten teacher and children’s director, Aaron Doyle Mirtsching, has been charged with a child sex crime. Mirtsching, 41, who hails from Morganton, has been charged with three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office. The charges stem from a tip received by investigators from Internet Crimes Against Children. Following this tip, authorities launched an investigation that led to the arrest of Mirtsching. Warrants filed at the Burke County Courthouse accuse him of possessing explicit material of two female children and a male child. The victims’ ages ranged from 8 to 13 years old, as mentioned in the warrants. Mirtsching previously worked as a kindergarten teacher at New Dimensions School. However, a post made on the school’s Facebook page on February 11, 2022, indicates that he was no longer employed there. The News Herald has also reached out to the school for Mirtsching’s personnel records.
