Former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai criticized the Congress-led government in the state for not making advance preparations to provide rice and for staging a politically motivated protest against the central government. Bommai said that the ministers were fixing the commission rate for department work, causing confusion since the Congress government came to power. According to him, the officials were feeling helpless as they were not able to work due to the lack of proper bus services for the free bus travel guarantee scheme. The former CM also disclosed that the cabinet members doubt if the government will last for five years, with some already discussing power-sharing even before the Congress government completes its first month in office. Bommai emphasized that the government lacked the ability to keep its word and the people were angry about it.
