Blenheim Gymnastics Club in shock after former coach admits to sexual offences
Blenheim Gymnastics Club has been left stunned and appalled after one of its former coaches, Gregory Pask, pleaded guilty to 29 charges of sexual offending against multiple girls. The offenses took place between 2014 and September of this year, and Pask also produced objectionable material. Marlborough CIB Detective Sergeant Ash Clarke has announced that the police believe there could be additional victims.
The news of Pask’s guilty pleas came on Monday during a hearing at Blenheim District Court. The club expressed its shock and distress in a statement posted on its website. Despite being aware of the legal proceedings, the organization had been unable to comment previously due to suppression orders preventing public disclosure. Gymnastics New Zealand’s chief executive, Andrea Nelson, announced that the organization is actively ensuring the victims of Pask’s sexual offenses receive the necessary support.
