Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has tendered his resignation. Both resignations were addressed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, with the aides attributing their decisions to Akeredolu’s passing.
In his resignation letter titled ‘Resignation Letter,’ Olatunde stated, My decision to resign from office is hinged on the unfortunate and untimely death of our leader, principal, and father figure, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON. He praised Akeredolu’s exceptional qualities and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state alongside him. Olatunde noted that Akeredolu’s leadership and dedication to the state’s development had inspired him to contribute his quota to progress.
Similarly, Aragbaye explained in his resignation letter, My decision to resign is based on the unfortunate death of my principal, a fearless and honest leader, Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, whom I am loyal to even in death. He thanked Akeredolu for the chance to work as a member of the State Executive Council.
Tragically, Akeredolu passed away in Germany on Wednesday at the age of 67. Following his demise, Aiyedatiwa has been sworn in as the substantial governor of the state. The swearing-in ceremony occurred at the Government House in Alagbaka, Akure.
