Former Germany youth international Agyemang Diawusie tragically dies aged 25
Former Germany youth international Agyemang Diawusie has sadly passed away at the age of 25, as confirmed by his club Jahn Regensburg. The Berlin-born forward, who played for the third-tier German side, was mourned by the Jahn family in a statement released on Tuesday. The club expressed their condolences and asked for privacy for Diawusie’s family during this difficult time.
In a tweet, Jahn Regensburg wrote: This Tuesday, SSV Jahn received the terrible news that Jahn professional Agyemang Diawusie died at the age of 25. The club is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic event.
The cause of Diawusie’s death has not been disclosed yet. The young player had a promising career ahead of him, having risen through the ranks of Jahn Regensburg’s academy. He later went on to play for Nurnberg and RB Leipzig, while representing Germany at various youth levels. Loan spells at Wehen Wiesbaden sandwiched a permanent move to Ingolstadt, before joining Dynamo Dresden in July 2020 on a two-year contract.
Diawusie played a crucial role in Dynamo Dresden’s promotion to the second division but unfortunately experienced relegation in his second and final season with the club. In January of this year, he joined Austrian top-flight club SV Ried, but his contract was mutually terminated after just one appearance.
