Former CNN Journalist Christine Romans has joined NBC News as a Senior Business Correspondent. Romans, who had spent over two decades with CNN, left the network earlier this year. Catherine Kim, Senior Vice President of NBC News editorial, made the announcement in a memo to staff on Monday. Romans will be based in New York and will cover major breaking business news with a focus on the economy and its impact on the daily lives of Americans. She will report across all platforms of NBC News, including writing for digital and appearing on MSNBC.

With her extensive experience in financial journalism, Romans is expected to bring valuable insights and analysis to NBC News. At CNN, she served as the Chief Business Correspondent and co-anchor of Early Start. She also hosted the weekend business program Your Money and authored the book Smart Is the New Rich: Money Guide for Millennials. Prior to her time at CNN, Romans worked in print journalism for publications such as the Des Moines Register, Knight-Ridder Financial News, and Reuters.

Romans’ move to NBC News had been widely anticipated since her departure from CNN. Her new role as Senior Business Correspondent will allow her to continue delivering informative and impactful reporting on economic and financial matters. NBC News remains committed to providing comprehensive coverage across all its platforms, and Romans’ expertise will contribute to this mission.

As a Senior Business Correspondent, Romans will delve into various aspects of the economy, including inflation, jobs, wages, debt, the Federal Reserve, manufacturing and trade, as well as regional trends. Her coverage aims to shed light on how these factors affect the daily lives of Americans nationwide. By analyzing and explaining complex financial topics, Romans will bring a deeper understanding of economic issues to viewers, readers, and digital consumers.

Romans’ addition to NBC News reflects the network’s commitment to delivering in-depth reporting and analysis on business and economic matters. Her extensive experience and deep knowledge of the subject will undoubtedly strengthen NBC News’ coverage in these areas. As viewers and readers turn to news outlets for reliable and relevant information, Romans’ presence will enhance NBC News’ ability to provide insightful reporting on the ever-evolving world of business and finance.
