Former BrahMos Aerospace chief, Dr. Sivathanu Pillai, stated that India can develop hypersonic missiles just like other countries. He made the remark during a ceremony celebrating the 25th anniversary of BrahMos Aerospace. Dr. Pillai praised the achievements of the joint venture between DRDO and NPOM, saying that BrahMos had given India the capability of developing supersonic cruise missiles. According to Dr. Pillai, BrahMos gives strength to India as a powerful weapon to advocate for peace around the world. BrahMos Chief, Atul D Rane, praised Dr. Pillai’s role as a leader and vision behind the BrahMos programme. Dr. Pillai inaugurated the BrahMos auditorium, which has been dedicated to him. The ‘Founders Gallery’ section of BrahMos Museum exhibits the many awards and accolades he received throughout his illustrious career as a scientist in India. The BrahMos work centers at Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Pilani also celebrated BrahMos ‘Silver Jubilee’ event in a grand way. BrahMos had previously hosted ‘BRAHMOS Users Meet 2023’ and ‘Industry Meet 2023’ to commemorate the 25 Supersonic Years of Success of the Military-Technology partnership programme of India and Russia.
