Former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba is set to join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, according to club president Jorge Mas. The Major League Soccer (MLS) team has recently signed several former Barcelona players, including Messi and Sergio Busquets. Alba, who was released by Barcelona at the end of last season, has signed a contract with Inter Miami and will arrive in the coming days. The left-back has an impressive track record, having played over 450 games for Barcelona and winning numerous titles, including the Champions League in 2015. Mas also confirmed that Inter Miami is in talks to sign Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, who currently plays for Gremio in Brazil. While discussions have taken place, Suarez is still a Gremio player and Mas respects that. In addition, Inter Miami has completed the signing of Paraguayan midfielder Diego Gomez from Libertad and has made inquiries with Argentine side Racing Club about forward Tomas Aviles. With Alba’s arrival, Inter Miami’s ex-Barcelona contingent will continue to strengthen, as they aim to make an impact in the MLS.
