Former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Arrested in Multi-Crore Scam, TDP Holds Candle March
Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 24 (ANI): Telugu Desam Party leaders organized a candle march at the district party office in Visakhapatnam to protest against the arrest of their leader, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, in an alleged multi-crore scam.
During the demonstration, TDP leaders raised slogans against the state government and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. The protest was joined by Former MLA and TDP Parliamentary in-charge Palla Srinivasa Rao, state party Polit Bureau member Anitha Vangalapudi, and several other senior party leaders.
The arrest of Chandrababu Naidu in the AP Skill development scam has been termed as a significant development by the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department chief N Sanjay. The agency claims that Naidu was the prime conspirator and orchestrated a massive corruption scheme during his tenure as Chief Minister, resulting in a loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state government.
Amidst growing concerns, TDP MLAs have been protesting for two consecutive days against what they deem as the illegal arrest of their party chief. TDP members have expressed their worries about a possible conspiracy to harm Chandrababu Naidu.
Former YSRCP MLA Undavalli Sridevi has also joined the protest, stating that the procedure followed for Naidu’s arrest was incorrect and that he is being mentally and physically suppressed in prison. Sridevi highlighted the recent death of a dengue fever patient in the same facility and expressed concerns about Naidu’s health.
TDP members are demanding the immediate release of Chandrababu Naidu, citing their worries about his well-being. The prison authorities have denied the presence of mosquito breeding in the jail, but the protestors continue to voice their concerns.
As this issue unfolds, tensions between the Telugu Desam Party and the ruling government in Andhra Pradesh are likely to escalate. The arrest of a former Chief Minister is a significant development in the state’s political landscape, and it remains to be seen how this situation evolves.
