Despite being advised to pull out of the fight, Anders bravely chose to compete with the hope of securing a short-notice fight before his necessary surgery.
Unfortunately, Anders faced defeat in a unanimous decision against Marc-Andre Barriault at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. Each of the three judges scored all three rounds 10-9 in favor of Barriault.
