Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan, is bringing back its youth football program with the revival of its four-day summer camp. The event aims to inspire kids and provide them with the opportunity to learn about the game, both on and off the field, from coaches, alumni, collegiate and professional players, and staff. Parents, alumni, former players, and current coaches, including offensive coordinator Osama Abulhassan, have helped to bring the program back after its hiatus. Abulhassan says it has been over a decade since the program has hit the field, and he was unable to play at the camp when he was growing up. The program will cater to kids aged seven to 14, and the camp’s first day included strength and agility tests, push-ups, chin-ups, vertical jumps, and running relays. The camp aims to teach more than just the game; it aims to instill values in kids, such as respect, dignity, and kindness towards others, without worrying about the costs. The camp will run from 6-9 pm on June 20-23 at Fordson High School, and participation is free for all.
