The directorate of food and drugs (FDA) has recently banned the sale, manufacture and distribution of 14 drug Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) on the basis of recommendations made by the Expert Committee and Drugs Technical Advisory Board. Individuals and organizations dealing with medical drugs such as drug retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, government and private hospitals, medical practitioners and nursing homes are requested to comply with the ban. Doctors have also been directed to avoid prescribing the banned drug.
