Foo Fighters fans were left disappointed and furious after tickets for the band’s 2024 tour in Manchester appeared on resale sites immediately after going on sale. The Everything or Nothing at All UK Tour, which includes six stadium dates, marks the band’s first tour since the passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins in March 2022. Despite the high demand for tickets on Ticketmaster and SeeTickets, many fans were unable to secure tickets and expressed their frustration on social media.
Fans took to social media platforms to share their dismay at missing out on tickets for the Manchester shows. Some expressed their disappointment, with one fan saying they had been online all morning and couldn’t find any tickets, adding, Not fair. Feel like crying. Another fan was surprised at the speed of the sell-out, stating, Ticketmaster let me choose tickets at 9:05 and they were already sold out. I refuse to believe it could have gone that fast. Several fans even suggested that the band add a third night in Manchester due to the overwhelming demand.
Tickets for the Manchester shows were priced starting at £82.50 for pitch standing and unreserved seats, while reserved seats were available for £104.50. However, fans soon noticed that tickets were appearing on resale sites for significantly higher prices. Standing tickets were being resold for around £200, more than twice the original selling price, while seated tickets were available for £493, four times the original price. Fans expressed their frustration with comments such as, Foo Fighters tickets already £223 per ticket on re-sales and Foo Fighters tickets appearing on resale websites even before some people got through the queuing process on the official platforms. A spokesperson for Viagogo, one of the resale sites, defended the platform, stating, Viagogo is a regulated marketplace where fans have the freedom to buy and sell tickets to their favorite live events, safely and securely, backed by a guarantee. The spokesperson advised fans to wait for prices to settle, as prices often fall over time. They also clarified that high listings on the site do not necessarily reflect the actual prices fans are paying for tickets.
The frustration expressed by Foo Fighters fans highlights the ongoing issue of ticket scalping and resale. While fans eagerly anticipate the band’s upcoming tour, many are left disappointed by the lack of availability and the inflated prices on resale platforms.
